Police Report: Illegal Vehicle Use from Brisbane to Lockyer

Police have charged a 33-year-old man after a truck carrying milk products was allegedly stolen from Brisbane City and tracked to Laidley overnight, March 26.

It will be alleged, the 2021 white Fuso truck was stolen while stopped outside a Queen Street business in Brisbane City around 12am this morning.

The vehicle was tracked travelling from the Western Freeway in Jindalee through Amberley, Walloon, and Rosewood, during which milk products were falling from the truck and onto the roadway.

A tyre deflation device was successfully deployed at Laidley and the vehicle came to a stop a short time later at Mount Berryman Road, near Whipbord Lane.

A 33-year-old Tara man was subsequently taken into custody and charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle (use in the night), dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by intoxicating substance and driving without a driver licence.

He is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court today.

Police continue to appeal to any witnesses or anyone with relevant vision is urged to contact police.
