Police Rescue Man from Parramatta River

A man remains in hospital after being rescued by police from the Parramatta River last night.

Just after 7.40pm yesterday (Thursday 29 January 2026), emergency services responded to the Parramatta River, after reports of a man heard yelling for help.

Officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command attended and entered the water, rescuing the swimmer who was semi-conscious.

Police began first aid on the 30-year-old man before he was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.
