Police investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Carrum Downs this morning.
Emergency services responded to reports a car and truck collided on Peninsula Link, near the off-ramp at the intersection of Frankston-Dandenong Road, about 3.20am.
The male truck driver stopped at the scene and was not physically injured.
Police located the car with no occupants inside.
Officers searched the area and located a deceased male nearby.
He is yet to be formally identified.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are attending to process the scene and determine the cause of the collision.
The southbound lane on Peninsula Link, from Thompsons Road to Dandenong Road, is expected to be closed for a few hours.
