Police Respond to Thomastown Fatal Crash

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance as they investigate the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Thomastown yesterday evening.

Emergency services were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision on High Street, near Central Avenue, about 6.40pm.

The driver of one vehicle, a 75-year-old Thomastown man, died on the way to hospital.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 38-year-old Kialla man, escaped injury and was arrested at the scene.

He was interviewed by detectives and released pending further enquiries.

Police are working to establish the circumstances to determine the cause of the collision.
