Police responding to fatal motor vehicle crash at Gordon River Road, Glenora

Approximately 1.45am on Sunday 8 August 2021, a head-on crash occurred between two Toyota Hilux's travelling east and west on Gordon River Road, Glenora.

Sadly, the male driver of the vehicle travelling west died at the scene as a result of his injuries. He was in his 50s.The 18-year-old male driver and 18-year-old female front passenger of the second vehicle, were taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Crash Investigators and Forensic Services remain at the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest the second vehicle may have crossed to the incorrect side of the road.A report for the coroner will be prepared.

Crash Investigation officers remain at the scene of the crash, and the Gordon River Road will be closed between Glenora High School and Westerway for several hours.

An alternative route for those travelling to Mount Filed National Park and beyond is via Hamilton or Ellendale.
