Police responding to fatal motorcycle crash at Maroochydore

Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating after a motorcyclist died in a single vehicle traffic crash in Maroochydore this evening.

Initial investigations indicate at 10.15pm the motorcyclist and a pillion passenger were headed north on Centenary Crescent when the rider lost control of the motorbike on a curve and hit the gutter. Both men were thrown from the bike and neither was wearing a helmet.

The rider, a 25-year-old Maroochydore man, died at the scene.

The passenger, also a 25-year-old Maroochydore man, was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations are continuing.
