Police Responding To Fatal Single-vehicle Crash At Rand

A woman has died and three people are hospitalised following a single-vehicle crash in the state's south.

About 4pm on Saturday 24 January 2026, emergency services were called to Bynedale Road, Rand – about 60km northwest of Albury – following reports a car had left the road and crashed into a tree.

The driver – a 31-year-old woman – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, she died at the scene.

Two passengers – a 46-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl – were both airlifted to hospital in critical condition.

The third passenger – a 14-year-old boy – was also taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
