Police responding to fatal single-vehicle crash at state's north

A woman and child have died after a single-vehicle crash in the state's New England region.

Just after midday yesterday (Tuesday 17 January 2023), emergency services were called to the Bruxner Highway at Boggabilla after a motorist located a vehicle that had left the road and crashed into a paddock.

A 26-year-old woman and a four-year-old girl died at the scene.

Two boys, aged nine and one, were located near the crashed vehicle; they were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Officers from New England Police District established a crime scene which has been examined by specialist police.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
