Police responding to fatal single-vehicle crash at Rydal, near Lithgow

A man has died after a single-vehicle crash in the state's west yesterday.

About 5.05pm (Thursday 8 August 2019), a Nissan Navara was travelling west on Sodwalls Road, Rydal, when for unknown reasons it left the road about 2km west of Hampton Road.

Emergency services were called and attended the scene, locating the vehicle down a bush embankment, and its male driver and sole occupant.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District performed CPR on the man, however he was unable to be revived and died at the scene.

A crime scene was established as inquiries into the crash continue.

The man is yet to be formally identified, and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
