Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Greenbank 5 July

Police are investigating following a fatal traffic crash at Greenbank this afternoon.

Initial investigations indicate at about 2pm a truck and car were heading in opposite directions on Middle Road before they collided and a third vehicle swerved to avoid collision.

The driver and sole occupant of the car was a 34-year-old Flagstone woman died at the scene.

The driver and sole occupant of the truck was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The roadway is expected to be closed into the night and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Investigators urge any witnesses and anyone with relevant dash cam footage to contact police.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
