Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Bundaberg 6 December

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred just after 5.30am this morning on the Bruce Highway at Apple Tree Creek, near Bundaberg.

Initial investigations indicate a silver Nissan Navara collided head-on with a grey Ford Everest, closing the highway for several hours.

The driver of the Nissan Navara died at the scene while a passenger in the same car was transported to hospital in a serious condition.

The driver and a passenger in the Ford Everest were taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash, or who may have dahs-camera footage, to contact them.

Investigations are ongoing.
