Police Responding To Fatal Traffic Crash At Mareeba

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after a 77-year-old man died following a traffic crash at Mareeba on Thursday, March 28.

Investigations indicate that around 10:30am, a 2004 Mazda3, a 2020 Mitsubishi Triton and a 2015 Honda CB125 motorbike were involved in a traffic crash on Herberton Street.

The rider of the motorbike, a 77-year-old Mareeba man, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Cairns Base Hospital.

He has since passed away from his injuries.

The occupants of the other two vehicles were physically uninjured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is continuing its investigations into the circumstances of the incident and is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed it or may have relevant dashcam/CCTV footage to come forward.
