Police Responding To Fatal Traffic Crash At Gympie Area 31 August

A man has died following a single vehicle crash at Kandanga this morning.

Police and emergency crews attended the crash just after 6am where a vehicle was located in a ditch on Amamoor Road.

Preliminary investigations indicate the campervan was travelling over the Kandanga Creek bridge, when it left the roadway and crashed.

The driver and sole occupant, a 19-year-old Ningi man, died at the scene.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.

The Queensland Police Service is committed to reducing the number of lives lost on our roads.

Data shows that serious crashes can be significantly reduced when drivers recognise and avoid the 'Fatal Five' behaviours: speeding, drink and drug driving, not wearing seatbelts, fatigue and distraction.
