The Caboolture Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating a fatal traffic crash involving a stolen vehicle in Woodford this morning, 5 May.
Police and emergency services were called to Archer Street near Victoria Lane around 6.10am following reports a white Isuzu Dmax utility and orange Toyota Corolla vehicle had collided head on.
The driver of the Toyota, a 60-year-old Caboolture South woman, suffered critical injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.
The ute had been reported stolen from an address on McLoughlin Road in Morayfield around 3.45am today, with the male driver fleeing the scene of the crash on foot.
The 31-year-old man was later located at a nearby educational facility. He was taken into custody and is assisting police with enquiries.
Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information or relevant dashcam is urged to contact police.
