Police Responding To Fatal Traffic Crash At Runcorn

The Forensic Crash Unit and Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating a fatal traffic crash involving a pedestrian at Runcorn, 28 June.

Initial investigations indicate just before 7.30pm, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle travelling east on Beenleigh Road, which then continued driving.

The pedestrian, a 72-year-old Kingston woman, sustained critical injuries and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, and was later pronounced deceased.

A vehicle, believed to be involved in the crash, was located at Avalon Road, Sheldon a short time later.

The driver was not located with the vehicle.

Investigators are working to identify the driver and are urging the person to come forward.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant CCTV, dashcam or other footage from the area around the time of the crash to contact police.
