Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash in Dotswood this morning.
Around 7.10am, a Holden Barina and a truck collided on the Flinders Highway approximately 40km east of Charters Towers.
The driver and passenger of the Barina, a 49-year-old woman from Garbutt and an 8-year old girl were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
The truck driver was transported by air to Townsville University Hospital with leg injuries.
Forensic Crash Unit are investigating and are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the Flinders Highway and may have information or dashcam footage of the incident, to come forward.
The Flinders Highway will be closed until approximately 3pm.
