Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Kilkivan

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after a woman died in a single vehicle traffic crash at Kilkivan this morning.

Police attended the scene, on the Wide Bay Highway, at 2.19am after receiving reports of a silver coloured SUV on fire.

Early investigations indicate the driver of this vehicle failed to navigate a bend in the road and collided with a tree.

A 31-year-old Sexton woman was the only occupant of the car when it crashed.

She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for witnesses, or anyone with more information on the incident, to contact them.
