Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Gympie 8 July

A woman has died following a single vehicle traffic crash at Gympie on Monday June 27.

Preliminary investigations indicate the 86-year-old driver from Araluen was travelling on Old Maryborough Road when her vehicle left the road and struck a tree.

She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The woman sustained serious injuries and was later transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

On Wednesday July 6, the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
