Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Gladstone 14 December

Two people have died following two traffic crashes in Gladstone this afternoon (December 14).

At approximately 1.00pm, a truck was travelling along the Bruce Highway through East End when it left the roadway and crashed into a ditch.

The driver of the truck, a man in his 30s, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

A short time later, a second crash has occurred between a separate truck and a car at the same location.

A passenger of the car, a 21-year-old Red Hill woman, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

Three other occupants of the car were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
