Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Bloomsbury

A man has died after a crash involving a truck and a car in Bloomsbury overnight.

Preliminary investigations indicate at 9.20pm yesterday evening (November 13) a white hatchback travelling southbound on the Bruce Highway has collided head on with a truck, five kilometres from Bloomsbury.

Sadly, the 23-year-old driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the truck was entrapped as a result of the crash and was later freed by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services. The truck driver suffered minor physical injuries.

Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating.
