Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Kewarra Beach

A woman has died following a fatal traffic crash in Kewarra Beach overnight.

Preliminary investigations indicate at 7.15pm a group of pedestrians were crossing the Captain Cook Highway when a woman was struck by a car travelling south.

Emergency services attended the scene however the woman, aged in her 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No one else was physically injured during the incident.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
