Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Mooloolah Valley

Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a car and mobility scooter in Mooloolah Valley this morning.

Preliminary information suggests around 6.25am a 90-year-old man riding a mobility scooter exited a service station onto Mooloolah Road and was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

The elderly male rider from Mooloolah Valley suffered significant injuries and was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the car, a 42-year-old Mooloolah Valley man, was not injured in the crash.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have dashcam footage to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
