Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Western Downs

Sadly a 16-year-old girl has passed away following a single vehicle traffic crash on a remote Western Downs road today.

Initial investigations indicate at around 10.30am a car was travelling along an unsealed section of Nudley Forest Road, north of Jandowae, when it has lost control and hit a tree.

A passing truck driver has located the crash at around 12:30pm and alerted emergency services.

The driver of the car a 16-year-old girl was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The passenger of the car a 46-year-old woman was transported to Jandowae Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The location of the crash was approximately 15km from Jandowae Connection Road.

The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating.
