Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Yarrabah

Two people have died and four people have been injured following a two vehicle traffic crash in Yarrabah yesterday evening (September 5).

Just before 8.30pm, investigations suggest two vehicles were travelling in opposite directions on Back Beach Road when they collided on a bend.

The male driver of the sedan, aged in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene while two female passengers aged in their 20s were airlifted to hospital with serious injuries. A third female passenger aged in her 40s was treated for minor injuries.

The male driver of the 4WD, aged in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene while the male passenger aged in his 40s was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Investigations are continuing.
