Police Responding To Serious Traffic Crash At Bilinga

The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating a serious traffic crash in Bilinga last night, 25 July.

About 11.40pm, a black Mitsubishi Lancer and a silver Holden Commodore were travelling southbound along the Pacific Highway when the Mitsubishi has struck the back end of a black Hyundai i20.

The Hyundai and Mitsubishi have both lost control and hit the side rail before coming to a stop and blocking both southbound lanes.

The Holden Commodore was not damaged.

A 25-year-old Currumbin Waters woman, a passenger in the Hyundai, was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition. The driver, a 25-year-old Currumbin Waters, was not physically injured.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, an 18-year-old NSW man, was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Holden, a 20-year-old Merrimac woman, was not physically injured.

Investigations are ongoing.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage from the area around the time of the crash, to come forward.
