Police Responding To Serious Traffic Crash At Tiaro

Police are investigating a serious traffic crash south of Tiaro this morning, 27 July.

Initial enquiries indicate just before 6.40am, a red Mitsubishi Outlander collided head on with a Mitsubishi Canter truck on the Black Swamp Creek Bridge on the Bruce Highway.

The impact of the crash caused the Canter truck to roll.

The driver of the Outlander, a 24-year-old Nirimba man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

The driver of the truck, a 49-year-old Battery Hill man, and his passenger, a 43-year-old Little Mountain man, were uninjured.

The southbound lane of the highway was closed for five hours as investigations commenced and has since reopened.
