Police responding to serious traffic crash at Toowoomba City

The Forensic Crash Unit will investigate a serious traffic crash in Toowoomba City this afternoon, Saturday December 3.

Preliminary information indicates around 4pm a blue 2010 Holden Cruze sedan was travelling west along James Street when a collision occurred with a black 2004 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle travelling east along James Street at the intersection of Hulme Street.

The rider, a 76-year-old Wilsonton man, sustained critical head injuries. He was immediately provided first aid by the driver, a local woman in her twenties, who was not physically injured, ahead of the emergency response.

He remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses, especially those with dashcam vision of the crash or the moments leading up to it to come forward.
