Police responding to serious traffic crash at Carrara

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a traffic crash which injured two people at Carrara last night.

Initial investigations indicate just before 8.40pm at the intersection of Birmingham Road and Nerang Broadbeach Road, a crash has occurred between a motorcycle and a vehicle.

A pillion passenger on the motorcycle, a 29-year-old woman, was transported in a critical condition to Gold Coast University Hospital.

The rider, a 31-year-old local man, was transported in a stable condition to Gold Coast University Hospital.

The occupants of the vehicles were not physically injured.

Police appeal to anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage of the incident or the moments prior, to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
