Police responding to serious traffic crash at Burleigh Waters

Investigations are continuing after a man received life threatening injuries last night when struck by a car at Burleigh Waters.

Shortly after 8.30pm, police were called to Bermuda Street following reports a man attempting to cross the street with another man, was hit by a Holden Caprice travelling south.

The driver of the sedan stopped and provided assistance until emergency services arrived.

The pedestrian, a 23-year-old Currumbin Waters, man was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver is helping police with their inquiries.

If anyone has dashcam footage or witnessed the incident they are urged to contact police.

The Forensic Crash Unit is continuing its investigations.
