Police responding to serious traffic crash at Stapylton

Police are investigating a serious traffic crash at Stapylton this afternoon, which resulted in a man suffering life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigations indicate that around 12.30pm, a 25-year-old Ormeau man was driving a Toyota Hilux northbound along Eastern Service Road, when his vehicle crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided with a Suzuki Swift being driven by a 45-year-old Upper Coomera woman.

The Toyota Hilux then veered into a ditch and collided with a tree.

Emergency Services attended and transported the 25-year-old man to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition, suffering significant limb, chest and internal injuries.

The female driver was uninjured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
