Police Responding To Traffic Crash At Gold Coast

Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after a man was struck by a vehicle in Hollywell overnight.

Initial investigations indicate at 1.05am, a man was walking on Cattleya Street when he was struck by a Nissan Navara utility which then fled the scene.

The 20-year-old Hollywell man was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the utility, a 23-year-old Runaway Bay man, was located by police a short time later and is assisting police with inquiries.

Investigations are ongoing.
