Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify a burglar following a break-in in Albion last week, Victoria Police say.
The incident occurred at a residential address on Ridley Street on 11 December at 10am.
Police believe the burglar gained entry into the home via a window at the rear of the property.
Once inside the home the burglar was confronted by the home owner who hit the offender in the face with a glass bottle.
The burglar ran out the back door empty-handed.
Investigators have released and image of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.
