Police search for missing man, St Lucia

Police have commenced a search operation for a 25-year-old man believed to be missing in the St Lucia area since yesterday.

Sarvjeet Mutti (pictured) was last seen near a boat ramp at the University of Queensland around 9.45pm last night however has not been heard from since.

Police hold concerns for Mr Mutti's welfare as some of his belongings have been located in the vicinity of the boat ramp.

Mr Mutti is described as Indian, around 175cm tall with a dark complexion, black hair and a beard. He was possibly wearing a yellow shirt, black pants, a black turbin and thongs at the time he went missing.

Water Police attended the location last night and conducted a sweep of the river while foot patrols of the area have continued this morning. Polair2 is also conducting aerial surveillance today as part of the ongoing search.

Anyone who may have seen Sarvjeet or know his whereabouts is urged to immediately contact police.
