Police are currently conducting a search of the Cedar Creek Falls area after a boy was reported missing earlier this afternoon.
Initial investigations indicate around 4.45pm, the boy and a friend were swimming at the falls when they both got into trouble.
One of the boys failed to return to shore, and emergency services were notified a short time later.
Specialist police, with the assistance of Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and the Queensland Ambulance Service, commenced a ground and water search for the missing boy.
The search will continue into the night.
