Police search for Nghi Le following St Albans warrant

Police are currently searching for 33-year-old Nghi Le following the execution of a warrant in St Albans this morning, Victoria Police say.

Drug Taskforce detectives executed a series of warrants in Melbourne’s north-west just after 5.30am as part of Operation Seadragon targeting an international drug trafficking syndicate.

Drugs and firearms have been seized after warrants were executed in Maribyrnong, Sunshine, Cairnlea and two premises in Melbourne’s CBD.

Eight people have been arrested and are currently in custody.

Police also executed a warrant at Levenia Street in St Albans about 6am when shots were fired at police.

Police returned fire and the occupant of the premises fled the scene.

No-one was injured.

A clandestine laboratory and precursor chemicals believed to be for drug manufacture were located inside the house.

Police are currently searching for Nghi Le who is believed to be armed with a firearm.

The St Albans man is described as Asian in appearance, 170cm tall with short black hair, brown eyes and a thin build.

An image of Nghi Le has been released in the hope someone may recognise him and know of his current whereabouts.

Police urge anyone that may see Le not approach him and call triple zero (000).

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is also urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
