Police search for overdue bushwalker in Florentine Valley

Police, including the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, and the SES are responding to a report of an overdue bushwalker in the Florentine Valley in the state's south.

Police were notified about 7pm last night after a 59 year old Hobart man, an experienced bushwalker, was overdue from a day walk.

The man, who was travelling with his dog, is believed to be in the Wylds Craig area near Maydena.

A land search team was deployed, along with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, last night, and resumed at first light today.
