Greater Shepparton City Council is inviting young people to explore fashion, costume design and stage makeup at the next Amplify Creative Hub session on Saturday 10 October 2026.
The free youth-led session will run from 12pm to 4pm at Shepparton Library and will give young people the chance to make their own costume pieces, try creative design techniques and experiment with fun Halloween-inspired looks in a relaxed and welcoming space.
The October session will also take place during the Shepparton Fashion Series, part of PayPal Australian Fashion Festival, adding a hands-on youth-focused activity to the fashion events happening across the region. Delivered through Council's Amplify Youth Committee, with support from Goulburn Valley Libraries and the Victorian Government, Amplify Creative Hub gives young people a safe and welcoming place to connect, learn new skills and explore their creativity.
The October session follows a successful Live Music Night in September, which attracted more than 45 people and created a full house at Shepparton Library.
The September event featured live performances from local young musicians and bands, including Dirty Denim and Novacane, alongside youth-led creative activities.
Mayor, Councillor Geoff Akers said the turnout at the September session showed the value of youth-led creative opportunities.
"It was fantastic to see Shepparton Library full for the Live Music Night, with young people coming together to enjoy local music, connect with others and take part in creative activities," he said.
"The October session is another great opportunity for young people to try something new, express themselves and explore their creativity in a fun and supportive space."
Council's Director Healthy Communities and Liveability, Briana Baass, said the Fashion and Costume Design session would give young people a practical way to build confidence and creative skills.
"This session is about giving young people the chance to experiment with fashion, costume design and stage makeup in a beginner-friendly environment," she said.
"No experience is needed. Young people can simply come along, get involved and enjoy a relaxed creative space."
Amplify Creative Hub is designed for young people aged 12 to 25, with everyone welcome to come along.
