Police Seek Good Samaritan in Richlands Case

A 70-year-old woman allegedly assaulted and left by the side of the road in Richlands on Tuesday, May 2 was helped by a Good Samaritan, with police appealing for this woman to contact them.

The female motorist, travelling along Industrial Avenue, between Progress Road and Formation Street at Richlands on May 2 stopped and assisted the woman at around 3.30pm, transporting her to shops in Goodna.

The 70-year-old woman contacted police on May 5 with officers arresting and charging a 38-year-old Bundamba man later that day.

He was denied police bail and appeared in the Richlands Magistrates Court on May 8 charged with 13 offences some of which include three counts of serious assault of a woman over 60 and two counts each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, common assault and wilful damage.

The man was remanded in custody to re-appear at the Richland Magistrates Court on July 10.

Police are wishing to speak with the female motorist who stopped and help the woman on Tuesday, May 2.
