Officers, along with the assistance of Polair, are searching the area to try to locate the boy.

Residents in the area are urged to check their properties, including any structures or sheds, in case he is hiding or seeking shelter.

The boy is described as Polynesian in appearance, with shoulder-length, dark wavy hair.

He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and underwear.
