Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from Arriga since yesterday afternoon.

47-year-old Gavin Bowyang was last seen at a private property along Kimola Road around 4.30pm.

Police and family hold concerns for Gavin as he suffers from a medical condition and his disappearance is out of a character.

Gavin is described as Aboriginal, approximately 165 centimetres tall, with short dark hair and a medium length grey coloured beard.

He was last seen wearing a white hat, a brown shirt, blue jeans and white thongs.
