Greater Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are hoping to identify a man following assaults in Springvale, Victoria Police say.
The assaults occurred on Grace Street at about 10.25pm on 18 November 2017.
Investigators allege one of the victims was earlier involved in a near miss motor vehicle incident and was followed home by the offender.
An altercation has taken place in a driveway where a 49-year-old Springvale man was assaulted receiving serious injuries.
Another man, an 88-year-old from Springvale, who came to the aid of the first man was also assaulted and received minor injuries.
Investigators have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
The investigation continues.
