Police Seek Help To Locate Stolen Dog In Mount Waverley

A 72-year-old man has been left heartbroken after his dog was stolen in Mount Waverley yesterday.

Police have been told the man was walking his dog Morticia along Huntingdale Road about 2.30am when a group of youths inside a black Holden Commodore pulled over and made demands for his dog.

The victim was chased by one of the youths to a nearby convenience store Waverley Road in Chadstone where an altercation occurred, and the offenders stole the dog.

The man was not injured.

The offenders fled the scene in the black Commodore with no plates and was last seen driving south on Huntingdale Road.

Morticia the dog is a white English Staffordshire terrier cross and is five years old.

Investigators have released an image of the dog in the hope someone knows of her whereabouts.
