Police seek info after child approach in Queanbeyan

Police have appealed to the community for information after a child was approached at a school in Queanbeyan yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 3.15pm on Monday 3 September 2018, police have been told that a man approached a 5-year-old girl at a bus stop outside a school on Alanbar Street.

The man approached the girl and spoke to her, but did not touch her.

When the girl’s mother saw the incident and approached her daughter, the man quickly left the area.

The matter was subsequently reported to officers from Monaro Police District today (Tuesday 4 September 2018).

Investigators have been told the man was between 30 and 40 years old, about 175-180cm tall and with a medium build.

Police have been told he had a tanned complexion and dark brown hair.

At the time of the incident he was wearing an olive-green jacket and dark pants.
