Police are requesting assistance from the public regarding two related incidents in Dubbo last year, NSW Police say.

The first incident occurred on Sunday 7 August 2016, when police were called to a home in Brisbane Street, Dubbo, following reports shots had been fired.

Officers from Orana Local Area Command attended and found shots had been fired at a car at the location.

Following inquiries, police believe that a black sedan was seen in the area at the time of the shooting.

Inquiries have led police to believe the car may have ties to the Wellington area.

No person was injured as a result of the incident.

A second incident occurred between Thursday 26 September 2016 and Thursday 6 October 2016. Police were called after a break and enter at a property on the Newell Highway, north of Dubbo.
