Investigators are appealing for information after a house was destroyed following a suspicious fire at Newcastle overnight.
About 11.45pm (Thursday 30 March 2023), emergency services were called to a home on Lambton Street, Lambton, following reports of a fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze; however, the home was destroyed, while two neighbouring properties received partial damage.
The property was vacant at the time and neighbouring residents were safely evacuated with no reports of injuries.
Officers from Newcastle City Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the cause of the fire, which is being treated as suspicious.
