Police seek info after teens injured during brawl in Newtown

Police are investigating after three teenagers were injured during a brawl at Newtown overnight, NSW Police say.

Just after 10pm (18 September 2015), police were called to a park on Federation Road, following reports of a brawl.

Officers from Newtown Local Area Command attended and found an 18-year-old male with a stab wound to his abdomen, and a 17-year-old girl with a laceration to her leg. A 16-year-old boy had also been punched, knocking him unconscious.

Police have been told that about 20 unknown people confronted the teenagers and their friends and a brawl began between the two groups.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the three teens.

The 18-year-old male and the girl were taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for further treatment. Their injuries are not considered life threatening.

Inquiries are continuing.
