Police seek info after woman robbed in Chifley

Police are appealing for information from the public after a woman was robbed in Sydney’s south east on the weekend, NSW Police say.

Just before 9pm on Saturday 20 August 2016, a 76-year-old woman walked to a bus stop on Anzac Parade, Chifley.

Police have been told while the woman was waiting for the bus; a man, who was also at the bus stop, approached her and allegedly grabbed her handbag.

The woman fell to the ground and the man fled the scene. He was last seen running towards Kenny Parade.

Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Local Area Command were contacted and conducted a canvass of the area.

Police would like to speak to man who is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 18-25 years old, with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded jumper and dark pants.

Police are urging for anyone with information to contact Maroubra Police Station on 02 9349 9299.
