Police are appealing for witnesses following a dog attack in Panania yesterday, NSW Police say.
About 3pm (Tuesday 6 February 2018), a boy was bitten on the face by a white dog on Dowding Street, Panania.
Police were told the boy approached a man, who was holding the dog on a leash. The boy went to pat the dog and was bitten on the face before the man pulled it away.
A family member called an ambulance, while the man and the dog left the scene. The boy was taken to Bankstown Hospital for treatment.
Officers from Bankstown Local Area Command attended but were unable to locate the man and his dog.
Police would like to speak with a man they believe can assist with inquiries. The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm to 185cm tall with short black hair and wearing a white shirt.
Anyone with information is being urged to contact Police or Crime Stoppers.
