Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in the Illawarra earlier this year.
About 1:40am on Thursday 4 June 2026, police were called to a business on Judbooley Parade, Windang, following reports of an armed robbery.
Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District attended and were told a man entered the licensed premises armed with a knife and attempted to enter the cash safe room.
The employee, a 25-year-old man, attempted to intervene before a violent confrontation occurred and the man ran from the premises with cash.
NSW Ambulance responded and treated the employee for bruises to his head and a laceration to his hand. He was transported to Wollongong Hospital for treatment.
A second employee – a 33-year-old woman - was not injured.
A crime scene was established as an investigation commenced under Strike Force Lamina.
Following inquiries, police have released CCTV to identify a person seen in the vicinity at the time of the armed robbery. He's described as a man, around 165-170cm, thin build with shaved short brown hair. He was wearing black hooded jumper/jacket, blue shirt underneath, navy blue 'Adidas' long pants with white stripes down the legs, olive green/grey Vans with white laces, blue face covering, white gloves, a black/dark grey peak cap and holding a silver switch knife.
