Police seek information after hit and run at Nowra

Police are appealing for information after a hit and run involving a boy riding a scooter on the state's south coast.

Around 6.30pm yesterday (Saturday 12 August 2023), emergency services were called to the roundabout on Wallace and St Anns streets in Nowra, following reports a boy was hit by a car.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District attended and were told the 14-year-old boy was struck by a white 4WD dual cab utility while he was riding through the roundabout.

The boy was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for serious leg injuries before being taken to Shoalhaven Hospital in a stable condition.

The utility didn't stop after the crash and officers from the Crash Investigation Unit are appealing for public assistance to locate the vehicle and driver.

The white 4WD dual cab utility is believed to have a large black toolbox attached to the front of the tray top.
